With Fourth of July weekend around the corner, it’s time to finalize your plans. Remember, in Denton, fireworks are not permitted, including the possession, manufacture, storage, sale, handling and use. But never fear – we’ve got something even more spectacular planned!
Celebrate Independence Day at Quakertown Park with patriotic fun and activities for all ages during our Jubilee Festival on July 3 starting at 6 p.m! This free family-friendly event features live music, tasty treats from local vendors, inflatables, games, rock climbing, face painting, photo opportunities, hot dog eating contest, and to cap off the evening, two spectacular drone shows presented by Denton Noon Kiwanis! Don’t forget, since it took the Continental Congress two days to officially wrap-up revisions and sign the Declaration of Independence, we have two days worth of celebrations. Not only do we have the July Jubilee on July 3, but we also have the Liberty Run and Yankee Doodle Parade on June 29th!
Liberty Run

Race begins at 7:30 a.m. | Denton Civic Center
Join us for our 26th Annual Liberty Run 5k and 1-mile walk. The entry fee includes a race T-shirt and race bag. Participants who complete the 1-mile walk will receive a race medal; participants who complete the 5k will have a chance to win a 1st – 3rd place medal.

Yankee Doodle Parade

Parade begins at 9 a.m. | Downtown Denton Square
Join us this year for the annual Yankee Doodle Parade. Deck out in red, white, and blue for this patriotic occasion, or watch from your lawn chair on the square as the parade rolls out. The parade route begins near the Wells Fargo building at Austin St. and Hickory St., continues around the square, then down McKinney St. to the Denton Civic Center.
